In this example, the office manger wants to validate the following six CPT codes (87476, 83812, 83896, 83894, 83892 & 83890 directly from the CMS 1500 Claim Form). The List Validation feature compares the first code 83890 with the other five and found one conflict (87476) then the second code 83892 with the other five and found the same conflict (87476) and so on until all 6 codes are compared to the other five. The results indicate that although the doctor/lab performed all six tests, Medicare's Correct Coding Initiative will only pay for five lab tests 83812, 83896, 83894, 83892 & 83890 not 87476.
